Windows 7 Might Ship in September
Microsoft Said Shipping Windows 7 in September
"Microsoft could have Windows 7 on shipping PCs by September, Compal president Ray Chen said today at an investor's conference. The PC contractor executive understands from plans that the software should be available in either late September or early October. The news would corroborate word of an April release candidate that would let Microsoft finish, manufacture and deliver Windows 7 well ahead of the holidays."

A Survivor Speaks Out
"When our own thoughts are forbidden, when our questions are not allowed and our doubts are punished, when contacts and friendships outside of the organization are censored, we are being abused for an end that never justifies its means. When our heart aches knowing we have made friendships and secret attachments that will be forever forbidden if we leave, we are in danger. When we consider staying in a group because we cannot bear the loss, disappointment and sorrow our leaving will cause for ourselves and those we have come to love, we are in a cult."

Oscars
A few random thoughts on the Oscars this year...
The Dark Knight was superior to Slumdog Millionaire. I enjoyed Gran Torino more than The Reader or Slumdog.
Kate Winslet is the best actress under 40 in the business today. She's deserved an Oscar since her performance in Sense and Sensibility.
Sean Penn remains irrelevant. He's yet to learn that honey attracts more flies than vinegar. Does he realize he's actually hurting the causes he attempts to champion? That aside, he's one of the best actors living.
Hugh Jackman is far more talented than most Americans realized until his hosting stint at the Oscars.
Was Ben Stiller's Joaquin Phoenix imitation proof that Phoenix is only acting or was it a cruel joke at Phoenix's expense?
Why didn't they show clips from the nominated movies? Having previous winners "talk" to the nominees was LAME.
