Play Classic NES Games in Your Browser
You can play all of your favorite
NES games in your browser. Super Mario Brothers and Zelda were my favorites.
iPod Touch
Can anyone offer any
comments about the
iPod Touch? They are selling on eBay for about $50 less than retail. The touchscreen Internet browser and Wi-Fi capabilities are what I'm interested in.

Oscar Winners
CNN:
List of Oscar Winners.
Only half of my
my predictions were right.
It was certainly a big night for foreign talent. It was nice to see the Coen Brothers bring home Oscars, after making interesting movies for decades.
If you haven't already seen Juno, check it out. Jennifer Garner deserved a Supporting Actress nomination for her role in Juno, by the way.

Jericho
I'm trying to get up to speed with the CBS show,
Jericho. I've made it through episode 4 of the first season. Pretty entertaining, so far.

Corey Creed Ditches Macs
Corey Creed:
Why I Hated My Mac.
Corey is a Windows power user, but five months ago, he
decided to switch to Mac. After a long, painful experience with his Mac, he came crawling back to Microsoft. Welcome, back Corey. Not that "there is anything wrong" with Macs.

Baby Update
On a personal note, we're expecting the arrival of our second child on Thursday. As he has managed flip himself in the womb (into the breach position), he will arrive by a scheduled C-section. John Ellis Broome will be his name. UPDATE: He was delivered normally, as he
flipped again, putting himself head-down, into the appropriate position.

Polaroid: RIP
Washington Post: "Polaroid, based in Waltham, Mass., is
shutting down factories in the United States and abroad as the company abandons the technology that made the instant photo possible, the Boston Globe reported yesterday. The company will cease production of its film by next year."
Great, another piece of dead technology that will make my kids think I'm an old man - because I used it, way back then, in the dark ages.

Global Cooling?
Investor's Business Daily: "Now, Canadian scientists are seeking additional funding for more and better "eyes" with which to observe our sun, which has a bigger impact on Earth's climate than all the tailpipes and smokestacks on our planet combined. And they're
worried about global cooling, not warming."
Gentlemen, start your SUVs. After all, you could be
saving the planet.

Super Bowl in HD
I'm watching the
Super Bowl in HD on my PC, via my
Pinnacle PCTV HD Pro Stick, on my
20" Samsung LCD display. The 720p
OTA broadcast looks pretty good, here, with no
motion artifacts.
Yeah, that was just an excuse for some 'geek speek'. I'm not a football fan and I'm so sick with a cold I can barely sit up. Go Giants.

Who Needs Blu-ray?
Economist.com: "The native resolution of the vast majority of HDTV sets today is 1080p. As such, the set's screen can now handle the highest resolution generated by its scaling electronics. To the average viewer, an
ordinary DVD played on a modern HDTV is not only a huge improvement over the picture on a standard TV, but
practically indistinguishable from that produced by a Blu-ray or HD DVD disc -- and all for half the disc cost and no extra piece of video gear." (Italics mine.)

Yahoo!
Dear Yahoo!
PLEASE don't
sell out to Microsoft. You've been handling my email for ten years. I don't want that to change.
Your Buddy,
