2007 Nissan Sentra 2007 Nissan Sentra - It has been redesigned to look more like the current Altima. It comes standard with a 2.0 DOHC engine and a Continuously Variable Transmission, pushing the gas mileage to near 36 mpg on the highway (standard transmission).

Can Surround Sound Save MP3? Wired News: Can Surround Sound Save MP3? - "MP3 Surround files are essentially ordinary MP3s with an additional layer of information that tells compatible players where to place sounds. New devices designed to support the format deliver rich and accurate surround sound -- whether through a 5.1-channel system or simulated through a pair of stereo headphones. The format adds minimal overhead, consuming just 15 additional bits per second. And it is backward compatible, so MP3 Surround files will play on any device that supports plain-vanilla MP3, sans surround." Giddy-Up!

Mint 1.27 I've upgraded to Mint 1.27.
Windows Vista Features You can read about the cool features of Windows Vista here.

Vista: Too Many Versions? Is it just me or are there WAY too many versions of Vista being planned? There are already too many versions of XP, why make the situation more confusing?

King Kong The new King Kong is visually stunning. The dinosaur sequences make Jurassic Park look like Disneyland. If you like this sort of thing, don't miss this movie. Finally someone shoots a dino with a machine gun. Why were there three JP movies and not once did someone shoot a dino with a machine gun? No such letdown here. Recommended.

Olympics I heard a radio talk show host lamenting the poor viewership numbers for the olympics. Big deal. Americans don't even tune in to watch the World Series. Baseball. Baseball. People don't even watch baseball. Why the surprise that nobody watches the Olympics?

Ten Reasons to Buy Windows Vista Ten Reasons to Buy Windows Vista - Here is a quote that I like: "Windows Vista boasts a re-engineered install routine, which will slash setup times from about an hour to as little as 15 minutes."

Roulette Chocolate Roulette Chocolate: "Seated in individual compartments, twelve chocolate bullets lay waiting to be bitten into. Although eleven of the sweet little slugs contain delicious praline centres, one conceals a seriously red hot chilli that's guaranteed to blow your head off - metaphorically, at least."

Survivor Panama: Exile Island Bruce can't catch a break on the new season of Survivor. He's been exiled twice in eight days. Overall, this new season has been pretty good. However, the younger team seems to be on a course of self-destruction.

Pink Panther Revisited My predictions about the new Pink Panther were written here, in December. Now, some eight weeks later, we can all read what the professional film critics have to say. No surprise, the critics agree with what I said back then: the film stinks. Here is a quote from James Berardinelli's review that I agree with wholeheartedly: "Sellers isn't just synonymous with Inspector Clouseau. He is Inspector Clouseau. You can re-cast a James Bond or a Doctor Who or a Superman, but you can't re-cast a part in which the actor and the character have fused. Clouseau died in 1980 with Peter Sellers, but filmmakers, including series creator Blake Edwards, haven't realized it. Maybe if no one sees this version of The Pink Panther, someone will get the message." Well, unfortunately, people did go see the movie. It racked up $21 million in ticket sales this weekend.

Cheap DSL BetaNews: AT&T Cuts DSL Prices to $12.99 - "AT&T has lowered the cost of its entry-level DSL service to $12.99 USD per month, the lowest price for high-speed Internet offered by any carrier. Speeds of up to 1.5 megabits per second would be standard, but for an additional $5 per month users can upgrade to a speed of 3 Mbps. There are some catches, however, as customers must sign up for the service online, and the pricing only lasts one year. After the year is up, the monthly pricing jumps to $29.99 and $34.99 USD, respectively. Additionally, new subscribers must also be local phone service customers of AT&T." Nissan Versa Say hello to the Nissan Versa. Starting at twelve grand, this puppy gets 38 miles to the gallon and replaces the Sentra as Nissan's most affordable ride. The hatchback model will be available this summer. Definitely not the best-looking car, but the gas mileage is impressive, considering it has a 1.8 liter engine (same as the Sentra).
