Chocolate Have I ever told you people how much fun the Broomeman has when he buys one of these? The good ole Whitman's Sampler. Yes, indeed. I picked one up on sale at CVS for $4.99 the other day. Yes, I realize that this is run of the mill chocolate, but it's still so good. In my younger days, I would carefully examine the 'legend' located in the top of the box to determine which chocolates were the 'good' ones. However, I've since realized that I like EVERY single one of them. I just reach in and grab another one. Yes, this is why I look so fat in my recent photos. Full Disclosure: When money is no object (read: very rarely), I buy two or three Godiva Milk Chocolate Truffles. They are incredible - and too expensive.

Mint 1.23 I upgraded to Mint 1.23 last night. I've been using Mint for about a month and I can definitely recommend it for webmasters interested in detailed website statistics.

New Episode of 'Lost' Tonight On tonight's episode of ABC's Lost, we'll learn 'What Kate Did'. (Preview Clips) The description of the episode at the official site is as follows: "Kate's original crime that started her life on the run is revealed. Meanwhile, the survivors lay one of their own to rest, Kate sleeplessly watches over a feverish Sawyer, and Mr. Eko has a surprise for Locke regarding the hatch." The show has been pretty good this season. Just when you think the writers may be running out of steam they bring the show back on track, leaving you wanting more. The recent episode dealing with what happened with the tail section of the plane was brilliant.

Colts: 11-0 The Indianapolis Colts remain undefeated. I'm no football fan, but this is pretty impressive. Will they choke in the playoffs?

Service Offers File Sharing Over Gmail BetaNews: "P2P users have found a creative way to fill up the more than 2 gigabytes of e-mail storage offered by Google's Gmail: file sharing. A new service created by Dutch student Robbie Groenewoudt taps into Gmail and creates an index of files that can be accessed by other users." No doubt, Google will put a stop to this.

'The World's Fastest Indian' Movie Trailer: The World's Fastest Indian, starring Anthony Hopkins. The film is about Burt Munro, the man who broke the world's land speed record for a 61 cubic-inch engined motorcycle during the 1960s at Bonneville Salt Flats. Looks interesting.

Napster to Go I love Napster to Go. I use it in conjunction with a Dell DJ Ditty. The following is a shameless plug for Napster, taken directly from one of their ads in Spin magazine. I'm quoting it here, because it sums up my feelings on the matter. Namely, I essentially have no interest in owning music. I want access to music. (Similar to how Netflix or cable TV gives a person access to movies.) I foresee a time when music will be delivered to consumers with more than two channels (stereo). When that day arrives, all of my CD's and homemade MP3's will be far 'inferior' to the new 6-channel mixes that will sound mind-blowingly awesome on a home stereo or computer sound system. This new format, will no doubt be available through subscription music services, such as Napster to Go. Without further ado, here is the text of the latest Napster ad:

"But enough of that, let's not turn this into an "Us" against "Them". Let's keep things on the positive. Your Napster membership gives you unlimited access to our library of over 1.5 million songs, which you can download onto 3 computers and 2 MP3 players. You never need to own music again. Browse, make playlists, customize, whatever. We're not calling ownership archaic, we're just saying it's old, constraining, and nowhere near as fun, and far more expensive. Napster. Own Nothing. Have Everything. Try it for Free at Napster.com."

WinZip 10.0 Pro I've upgraded to WinZip 10.0 Pro. A new feature that I really like is the ability to run and schedule backup jobs and automatically have the resulting ZIP file uploaded to a server via FTP.

Powerballs Powerballs. A co-worker introduced me to the world of Powerballs. What is it? It's a hand gyro. I guess you'd call it a toy or a gadget. It features an RPM guage that will indicate how fast you were able to make it spin. The world record is over 16,000 RPM. So far, I've only been able to get it up to 9,700 RPM. Supposedly it's also good for you. It takes a little practice, but give it a try if you can get your hands on one. Enter the Promo Code PCGameworld to receive a 25% discount.

Mint I purchased and successfully installed Mint on my site. (Installation note for all of you geeks: In order to install Mint, I had to create a MySQL database. Yipee! My first one!) Mint is a website statistics program. As I add the necessary code to all pages that I want to track, I'll have very detailed data rolling in for those pages.
