Pink Panther Revisited My predictions about the new Pink Panther were written here, in December. Now, some eight weeks later, we can all read what the professional film critics have to say. No surprise, the critics agree with what I said back then: the film stinks. Here is a quote from James Berardinelli's review that I agree with wholeheartedly: "Sellers isn't just synonymous with Inspector Clouseau. He is Inspector Clouseau. You can re-cast a James Bond or a Doctor Who or a Superman, but you can't re-cast a part in which the actor and the character have fused. Clouseau died in 1980 with Peter Sellers, but filmmakers, including series creator Blake Edwards, haven't realized it. Maybe if no one sees this version of The Pink Panther, someone will get the message." Well, unfortunately, people did go see the movie. It racked up $21 million in ticket sales this weekend.
