40 Best? I Don't Think So This list is absurd. I suppose lists like this are created merely to provoke controversy. Any such list that excludes Lumet, Spielberg and Coppola is simply laughable. The lists that I enjoy reading are lists compiled by film directors, such as this list. Here's another interesting list that Google turned up. It rightly adds Ridley Scott and Peter Jackson to the mix.

Dear readers, obviously art cannot be measured, only appreciated. However, placing the directors of the The Matrix trilogy on a Top Twenty list is beyond good taste, in my humble opinion.
