Armed, Unmanned Predators Patrol Iraq 'No-Fly Zone' "For the first time, the United States is patrolling the skies over Iraq's southern "no-fly zone" with unmanned Predator surveillance planes that are armed, ABCNEWS has learned. The Predator can stay over an area for 24 hours or longer, allowing the United States to keep constant watch over a suspicious site. Now, these unmanned planes, which are armed with two Hellfire missiles, for the first time can fire at moving targets within minutes or seconds if an Iraqi missile or mobile radar moves out of hiding. With a manned aircraft, it can take hours to scramble the jets and get to a target - which by then could be hidden again."
